I have been working with Virgil for about 5 months now and have enjoyed my experience so far! One thing I really enjoy is most of the lesson is spent by me playing the guitar rather than watching how good I could be. I learn best by doing and Virgil will show me what he is looking for and then I spend the rest of the lesson doing that with the occasional critique to get me on the right track. If I have questions between lessons or if I would like to get some of the tab critiqued, Virgil is very prompt in responding. I am currently working on acoustic blues and plan to continue with Virgil as I move to different styles and eventually to electric!

As someone who has always enjoyed music it has long been a goal of mine to learn how to play an instrument, and for me the guitar seemed like a natural choice. I have been taking lessons with Virgil for about 4 months now and I have been very happy with the progress I have made. Virgil is a very easy going guy, but as a teacher he still holds you accountable, which is exactly what I needed to move from "thinking about playing guitar" to actually playing guitar. The environment at his home studio is very professional and the time spent in the lessons always seems productive.
